Making our historic school come to life again!!
We have an awesome giving community!!
In 2012 a Facility Improvement Project was undertaken with a specific mission to upgrade, improve, and maintain the school building and grounds.
Stadler Custom Homes agreed to assist with the restroom portion of the Project. Stadler Custom Homes solicited bids for certain parts of the project and accompanying renovations and with their diligence, have provided a new set of ADA restrooms on the north side of the campus that will have access to the historic school house. Hunter Stadler and his Scout Troop 185 completed his Eagle Scout Project by putting all the finishing touches of insulation, siding, paint, caulking etc to the new bathroom building. We so appreciate all their efforts that will total to a gift of over $30,000 toward the preservation and improvement of the school and grounds.
The Lower Colorado River Authority and Perdenales Electric Corporation also provided a $16,000 grant that assisted in renewing all the electrical and plumbing infrastructure within the building and on the grounds in 2013. Assistance was also provided by Walmart and Frost Bank of Boerne that will help with this project. Many kind community donors also have given of their time, talent and donations toward this project.
The Pleasant Valley School still needs about $50,000 in funding to complete all necessary upgrades that will make the historic school a sound, safe and comfortable place to visit and enjoy.
